The big question

Sis no 2 has just returned from Australia bearing gifts (see above).  I’d never had a Tim Tam before but understood that they are similar to the mighty Penguin.  In fact there seems to be some internet debate about which is the best.  So, purely in the name of scientific research, I have tried them out.  It is my unpatriotic duty to announce that Tim Tams win hands down.  They are Penguiny but also with a hint of Crunchie Bar.  A marriage made in heaven (or New South Wales according to the packet).

Anyway I’m soothing my soul with Tim Tams while the building work continues.  My uninhabitable house currently looks like this:

I shamelessly (and rather cheaply) ‘let slip’ to the builders that I’ve got cancer.  My not very subtle subtext being ‘so please do the work extra quickly and extra well’.  My cheek has been rewarded as now, every time I go to see the work in progress, I get a hug from the chief builder.  As a result, I am now about to tour the building sites of Shrewsbury, pulling my poorly face, in search of sympathetic cuddles from all and sundry.

  2. Normally I would say the original of any biscuit is best when they start playing around with flavours, but I have to admit with Tim Tams the dark chocolate is the winner.

  3. Hi Del, love the post made me LOL, I spent 6 months in oz and was taught by an ocker aussie (thats aussie slang for a true oz!) the proper way to eat the delectable TimTams, firstly nibble away at either end, secondly dunk the said TimTam in a hot beverage of your choice and suck the drink up through the TimTam like a straw, its the only way to eat em. Yum Yum

Sounds like your recovering well from the mastectomy like your onc has already said the Seroma will disappear given a little time and drainage. Try to keep up doing those exercises especially if you've had any lymph nodes taken out, I have some Lymphedema the top of my body by the mastectomy site and have to go for lymphedema massage once every 2 weeks its not like a normal massage very light touch the lymphedema doesn't bother me that much but occasionally it aches, so please keep up the exercises, probably a good idea after all those TimTams LOL. Sending you much love and light sarah xxx

    1. Hi Sarah, Ah yes, the Tim Tam Slam - I've been reading about it on the Internet. Sounds disgusting but I will nobly give it a go in the name of science.

Thanks for advice re exercises. I'm still doing them bit reluctantly and not as offer as I should, so I'll reapply myself.

  4. Tim Tams sounds like a good name for tampons. Sorry but that's what I thought of when I saw them.

    1. I'd like to tell you that you have a revolting mind, but I'd thought the same thing too. And we all know MY mind is pure and unsullied.
